Marie Poppins: Travel Nanny Services
Education is my expertise. Caregiving is my passion.
As a dedicated educator and caregiver, I bring over twenty years of diverse experience working with infants, toddlers, school-aged children, teenagers, individuals with disabilities, and those requiring special education. Since moving to California in 2014, I have had the privilege of supporting VIP, high-net-worth, and uniquely situated families, consistently upholding strict non-disclosure and confidentiality standards. My roles have ranged from Kindergarten and First Grade Teacher, Head of Child Development, Private Educator, and Family Assistant, to Travel Nanny and Holiday Caregiver.
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Child and Family Development and Early Childhood Education from The University of Georgia, with a specialization in Pre-K through 2nd grade. I have taught in public, private, childcare center, and homeschool settings. Recently, I continued my education through Loyola Marymount University with certifications in Medical Assisting and Behavioral Therapy (2023–2024).
Travel has always been an integral part of my work and passion. I specialize in traveling internationally and domestically with families, supporting education, daily routines, and care while adapting to a variety of settings. I am a U.S. citizen with a valid passport, TSA PreCheck, Global Entry, and CLEAR. I remain health-conscious and follow CDC-recommended safety protocols, including regular COVID-19 testing.
Families have entrusted me with a wide range of situations—from providing educational continuity during international travel and artist tours to assisting with sleep training, special needs care, and homeschooling during and after the pandemic. I create personalized and developmentally appropriate curricula, plan multicultural and engaging activities, and differentiate instruction to suit each child’s learning style and needs.
I am fluent in English, currently advancing my Spanish through intermediate coursework, and I pride myself on strong written and verbal communication skills. Technologically proficient, I can manage calendars, schedule personal affairs, and handle logistics with discretion and efficiency. I hold a valid California driver’s license, have a clean driving record, am registered with California Trustline, and am certified for in-home care. I also drive a reliable, insured vehicle and am confident in transporting children.
My certifications include Red Cross CPR, AED, and First Aid, and I am a trained lifeguard, swim instructor, and water safety advocate. When in my hometown of Hurricane, West Virginia, I volunteer at the local YMCA, leading a free swim program for individuals with disabilities and special needs—a personal passion supported through anonymous grants.
In my free time, I enjoy visiting National Parks, camping, backpacking, skiing, practicing yoga, baking, reading, and exploring arts and culture. I lead an active, health-conscious lifestyle, cook with organic ingredients, and continuously seek opportunities to grow professionally and personally. I’m a responsible, reliable, and proactive individual who values integrity, creativity, and connection in all areas of life.
My professional background is rooted in educating young learners and providing exceptional care to others. I am deeply committed to the families I support and bring diligence, reliability, and a strong sense of responsibility to every role I undertake.
